Star-Spangled Crafts for ages 3 and up

2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Barn Visitors Center

Kids will love showing off their patriotic spirit this summer by creating festive red, white, and blue crafts that are perfect for gift giving, decor, and fashion accessories. Activities include, making flags, star mobile, salt dough ornaments, and fish-tail bracelets using lucets.

Please call the office at 610-388-7376 to register so we can have enough supplies at hand. Free for members, $5 for non members.

Looking for a great summer day camp for your child this summer? Discover what daily life was like in early American time.


American Girl TM Doll Camp

July 21-25 & August 18-22.

8:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Members: $200; Non-members: $225

 

Girls will have the chance to experience early American stories with their dolls. Activities include learning about Native American life, sewing, cooking, weaving, quill pen writing, and enjoying a tea party! Please bring a packed lunch.

Your camper will love experiencing life as it was centuries ago by investigating answers to questions like: "what would a colonial child have for breakfast?"  Activities include taking nature walks, woodworking, weaving, cooking and fire starting. Please bring a packed lunch.

John Chads House is open Saturdays & Sundays

Barns-Brinton House is open on Saturdays only . It is closed on Sundays.



$10 for adults (both houses), $5 for adults (1 house), $5 for students over 12.  Free for Members and childern 12 & under



Enjoy history-filled tours with costumed guides at our National Register Historic Treasures: The Barns-Brinton House, 1714 located on 630 Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford and The John Chads' House, c.1725 at 1719 N Creek Road in Chadds Ford. Watch bread baking demonstrations at the John Chads House. Freshly baked beehive bread will be available for sale.

 

Tours of these historic houses are available for small and large groups year round with advanced scheduling. Please email the education department at education@chaddsfordhistory.org

An outdoor festival on the grounds of the Barn Visitors Center

 

This is a Chadds Ford Community event that features quality crafters and artists, outdoor activities, live entertainment, tours of the historic John Chads House, and so much more. 

Adult admission is $5; Free to CFHS members. Kids, Dogs, & parking are also free.

The Great Pumpkin Carve

Co-Sponsored by the Chadds Ford Historical Society & the Concordville Chadds Ford Rotary

5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

An outdoor festival on the grounds of the Barn Visitors Center

 

Join us Thursday as more than 60 local artists carve huge pumpkins! Pumpkins will be lit and displayed on Friday and Saturday. All three nights, enjoy live music, hayrides, and a haunted trail.

$10 for adults 18 and older; $5 for ages 7 to 17. Free for ages 6 and under. CFHS members are free with membership card.

The 29th Annual Candlelight Christmas Tour

1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

This self-guided tour will feature homes around and including the Barn-Brinton House, c. 1714.
